שָׂדֶהc. (b. h.; cmp. שָׂדַד; v. Del. Assyr. Handw. s. v. šid(d)u, p. 64 2) tract of land, field. Shebi. I, 1, a. fr. שְׂדֵה האילן a cultivated field in which trees grow, opp. שְׂ׳ הלבן, v. לָבָן. Sifra Bḥuck., Par. 4, ch. XI (ref. to Lev. 27:21) מגיד שהש׳ קרוי לשון זכרוכ׳ this proves that sadeh is of masculine gender in the sacred (Biblical) language.
